Websites and custom web apps

Bald brown-skinned African developer building a website at a clean workstation
Websites + custom web apps

Websites that build trust. Custom web apps when you need a working tool.

Some businesses only need a clean, fast website with real quote requests. Others need a quote workflow, dashboard, learning app, internal tracker, booking flow, or customer portal. I scope the simplest useful web project for the job.

Landing pages from $799 Most websites $1,200-$3,500 Custom apps quoted after discovery Written flat quote first

What the web project should do

Make the next step obvious, whether the project is a page or a tool.

A good local-service website does not need to be enormous. A custom web app does not need to be overbuilt. The work should answer buyer questions, capture useful details, or make a real workflow easier to use.

Explain your services clearly

Service pages, location cues, photos, and plain copy that tells customers what you do and how to ask for help.

Capture real quote requests

Forms and follow-up fields that collect useful details instead of sending every lead into a vague contact box.

Build the working tool

Quote workflows, dashboards, portals, booking flows, and learning apps that save state and guide the user.

Website proof

Miracle Paving: a practical local-service site.

A paving contractor needed a credible home for service pages, proof, service areas, and quote requests. The result is a mobile-first WordPress site built around the questions a local buyer actually asks.

Six service pages Residential, commercial, repair, sealcoating, and related paving services.
Quote-request path Structured lead capture that goes straight to the owner.
Local SEO structure Service-area content, clear headings, and practical page organization.
Owner-friendly WordPress Built so the site can be maintained and expanded instead of boxed into a builder.

I can share the live example during the quote conversation without making this page send visitors away before they request their own quote.

Need more than a website?

Web apps too, when pages are not enough.

Some businesses only need a clean website. Others need a working tool: a quote workflow, dashboard, learning app, internal tracker, booking flow, or customer portal. FlashSpark is a live example of that second category.

View FlashSpark

External link opens the live app only. The private repository is not linked.

Live Next.js app FlashSpark runs publicly as a responsive Next.js web app, not a static portfolio mockup.
Local scheduler Card selection uses a deterministic local SM-2-lite spaced-repetition scheduler. AI does not schedule cards.
AI where it helps Groq/Genkit is used only to generate quiz multiple-choice options, with fallback behavior if generation fails.
Resumable sessions Deck data, preferences, cached quiz options, and active sessions persist in browser localStorage.
Docker + Cloudflare Production runs as a Dockerized standalone Next.js server behind the Cloudflare route.
Tested flows Vitest, typecheck, production build, and browser checks validate the important study and quiz paths.

Pricing and ownership

A clear website or app quote before anything starts.

The price depends on how many pages, how much content is ready, and whether you need lead forms, booking, ecommerce, migration from an old site, or a custom workflow.

Landing page

From $799

A focused one-page site or campaign page with copy, design, mobile layout, and lead form.

Small business site

$1,200-$3,500

Most local-service websites with multiple pages, service structure, and quote capture land here.

Custom web app / workflow tool

Quoted after discovery

For dashboards, portals, learning apps, internal trackers, quote tools, and flows that need real application behavior.

After launch

Choose the hosting path that fits the site or app.

Either way, you own the domain, content, and agreed handover materials. The difference is who handles the server and ongoing care.

Managed hosting & care

From $59/mo

I host and maintain the site in its own isolated WordPress environment with Cloudflare protection, routine updates, monitoring, and scheduled backups.

  • Best for brochure and local-service websites
  • No shared account with my personal site
  • Simple monthly care, not a help-desk contract

Build + handoff

No recurring fee to me

I build the site for portability, launch or migrate it to a compatible WordPress host in your account, and hand over the files, database, and admin access.

  • You pay the hosting company directly
  • Good fit for stores or business-critical websites
  • No reseller lock-in

Online stores, membership sites, regulated data, and workloads requiring a formal uptime SLA are placed with a suitable commercial managed host.

Common questions

A few plain answers before you ask for a quote.

Do I own the finished website or app?

Yes. For websites, you own the content, domain, administrator access, and files. For custom web apps, ownership and handoff details are written into the scope before build work starts.

Can you write the website copy?

Yes. I can turn rough notes into plain service-page copy, but I will need your real services, locations, photos, and business details.

Do you build custom web apps?

Yes, when the project needs more than pages. Good fits include quote workflows, dashboards, internal trackers, booking flows, learning apps, and customer portals with a clear business purpose.

Is every custom app an AI app?

No. FlashSpark is a good example: scheduling and sessions are local app logic, while AI is used only for quiz multiple-choice option generation.

Do you build online stores?

Simple stores are possible. If the site is business-critical, regulated, or needs formal uptime commitments, I will recommend a suitable commercial host and scope it carefully.

How fast can a site launch?

A focused landing page can move faster than a full site. Multi-page sites depend mostly on content readiness, feedback speed, and any integrations.

Is this ongoing managed IT?

No. Website hosting and care is limited to the website environment. It is not 24/7 help desk, device management, or per-seat business IT support.

Ready to price the website or app properly?

Send the basics: what the project should do, whether you have a domain, timeline, and hosting preference. I will reply with the next step.
